TLV Projects

Timor Leste Vision (TLV) began after a group of university students travelled to Timor Leste in 2004 as part of an immersion program to teach English in rural schools. After seeing the challenging conditions there, the group was motivated to work in partnership to set up grass-roots sustainable programs to benefit rural communities.

The Scholarship Program

The group, in conjunction with the people of Letefoho have worked together to design a program that assists students to attend well resourced Senior High Schools in the nation’s capital, Dili. It is our collective aim to improve their life chances by giving them access to opportunities they would not otherwise have and thus contribute to the East Timorese community.

The Ainaro Project

In response to requests from the community, TLV recently committed to this new project which consists of renovating the Boys Boarding College and supporting the conversion of an abandoned building, Villa Maria, into a community centre/guest house which will be open to all, in and around Ainaro.
